Well..we went on this hike after the kids got back from their Geraldine Hike...We didn't anticipate this to be a long hike as Danny (Shawn's co-worker)told us that the views were spectacular and that it wasn't that long. I guess they never went on the whole hike. It took us a little over 3 hours to do half the hike. The first part is all down hill...really easy and then it veers off onto actual hiking paths as you walk beside a waterfall. The water was running extremely fast and furious. We went off the path onto some rocks along the waters edge to dip our feet in and cool ourselves off as we didn't take water with us (big mistake). Of course the whole trip, Ty has always managed to do well on the first part of the hike...but on the way back he always needs to be carried. No different this time however, this time we climbed down first and then needed to go up. Every other time we climbed up and he needed to be carried down. So the steep 1 1/2 climb up was hard...not to mention the temperature was +30 and no shade...Beautiful hike! We managed to get to the 7th waterfall...however what I will remember most is how hot it was and how hard the climb up was...We all wore our sandals (us girls flip flops) and were not good shoes to do this hike. I will also remember how many people were here...I really like the secluded hikes, although after the 4th fall you are basically secluded, it's difficult to be around people at the end of our hike when you are sweaty and exhausted and have to navigate your way through people who stick around the first fall and don't have a clue as to where you just came from.
