Ty's Birth Day

The girls lapping it up as this was our first meal out and to top it off it was at an upscale restaraunt in Banff.

The birthday boy. He ate alot this night. We did alot of travelling and some hiking. My baby is now 4...wow!

The highway to Golden BC where we attempted to get to the grizzly bear refuge. We arrived at 5pm and they closed at 5:30pm so it didn't pay to take the gondola up. The roads were being blasted when we drove their. It's a very freaky feeling.

Takakkaw Falls - we came here 7 years ago and were able to climb up just above the base of the waterfall. However, today it was too windy and they had way more rain. You were getting wet a few hundred feet away.

Spiral Tunnels - this is where the train spirals through the mountains. If we had alot of money we would love to take the train through here. We ended up seeing all the sites that Jillian from the Bachelorette took her dates. Amy reminded us of these places.

Woke up early this morning and took a 2 hour hike in before Amy and Ty woke up. This was a stones throw away from our campsite. This is Johnston Canyon. Made it up to the 3rd falls. However, it would take a good 4-5 hours to do this in a day and as you can see....this was a morning where we woke up to rain. I still went for the hike and was glad I did. Shawn and Ty did this hike the last couple of mornings, but had only done the first fall. It's very touristy so you have to get up early to go on this hike or you will be bombarded with tourists...and surprisingly old people. I can't imagine them making it past the first falls. If your not their before 8am, you may as well not go...the tourists come by the bus loads and the paths get very full. (especially when they are all carrying their hiking sticks and canes which are not needed on this hike at all)
