Schiffty is leaving

Annika came to Canada at the end of August and has stayed with my sister and family for the last 4 months. She has been a pleasure from the moment we met. Sam and her have shared a room for Anni's entire stay and have become very close. It will be very hard for Sam and Anni will be greatly missed. It's amazing how this shy girl became so involved in school, sports and friends. Anni made the Soccer team and was the best player on the team and made the volleyball team as well. Anni made a lot of friends at school. It amazed me to see how many friends and how quickly. Being in such a small community and growing up together sometimes makes it hard to let others close and into a tight circle of friends...especially coming into a community in grade 10...but for Anni it seemed really easy. Her natural beauty and kindness attracted many people to her. It really helped that her English was really good and she wasn't afraid to ask questions. She certainly was 1 of the family from the time she stepped off the plane and into our lives. We will miss you lots and think of you always...even at the school there will be a void with you gone. Have a great Christmas Anni...and remember to keep in touch.
