June 22, 2007 there were a series of tornados all around manitoba....Elie (F4), Portage had 2 (not sure of rating), Pipestone (F3), Elm Creek, & Carman . We are very fortunate we only had the wind and the rain. It was 4 days of uncertainty of wether or not to run to the basement for shelter or what. Shawn worked nights this whole weekend and people who know me know I hate storms. Lightning strikes were tremendous in our area. In fact it burned a house down after being struck. The devestation was quite wide spread. In all my years, I have never heard of that many tornados hitting Manitoba in one weekend.
